WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

The baby's skin is very thin, and blood vessels can be seen underneath. The skin is covered with a fine, fuzzy hair called lanugo, which will not fall out until your baby nears full-term. The heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood per day. Growing fast, your baby weighs 1.5oz and measures ten centimetres crown to rump or 12.5cm head to toe. This week marks a period of rapid growth, so get your rest.

The weeks really seem to be flying by! I wish it would slow down some, though. Since this is our last pregnancy I want to make it last! ;)

Still about the same as far as symptoms go. My face still seems to be pimple city, mainly around my mouth/chin area. I've also noticed I get heartburn more frequently. My boobs still aren't very sore, but they are growing like crazy! Of course Z likes that. The one thing I have noticed about this pregnancy that is different than my first is that I get bloated so easily and it lasts forever sometimes!! It's worse at night, which makes it a little difficult to find a comfy position to go to sleep. My nose is super stuffy and every time I blow it (TMI alert) there is some blood in it. I'm hoping within the next few weeks i'll really start to feel Nibbles moving. (not that i'm rushing that, though...hehehe)

So far the only food aversion I have is anything to do with ground beef. We buy the lean meat, and no matter what I make with it it doesn't agree with me. I've made hamburgers, meatloaf and spaghetti and meatballs and they all make me feel really nasty after I eat them. Other than that, Nibbles likes just about anything I eat! LOL

Keep growing strong, Nibbles.....mommy, daddy and big brother Tyler love you so much!!!

Results are in

So the doctors office called with the results from our NT screening last week......and everything is just fine!!! Nibbles risk of Down Syndrome is 1 in 5,981 and the risk for Trisomy 13 and 18 was 1 in 4,181! She said the baby was doing great and that they would see me sometime next month. :) I knew things would work out fine, but it feels so good to have that reassurance.

14 weeks!

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby is now about 4 1/2 inches long and weighs 45g. The neck is complete, and your baby even has fingerprints.

He or she is beginning to move around in the amniotic fluid, which replenishes itself every three hours. Foetal movement, or ‘quickening’, can occur as early as this week so be alert for fluttering sensations. If you can't feel them, however, don't worry as they're more likely to occur between the 18th and 22nd week. In subsequent pregnancies, foetal movement is felt earlier.

Wow, the time is really going by fast!!! It feels like I just found out I was pregnant, and here I am almost half-way through the pregnancy!!

Symptom-wise, things are still the same. I guess I should just count myself lucky?!? My boobs are only sore on and off, and I tend to get a little puky/gaggy after I eat something, or if I wait too long to eat. I've noticed my face is still breaking out, but only around my chin/mouth. One thing I do notice is that i'm not so wiped out after I take my shower or when I do alot of housework. I have been feeling a little crampiness on and off, which isn't too awful bad.

One thing I have noticed, which is super exciting, is I honestly think i've been feeling Nibbles moving around!! Every once in awhile i'll feel a little thump, then a few seconds go by and I feel it again......then after another few seconds i'll feel it yet again! I usually notice it at night when I go to lay down, but occasionally i'll feel it during the day. Usually when I feel it during the day, it will happen several times throughout the day. I first started feeling Tyler moving at 17-18 weeks, so i'm really thinking what I am feeling now is Nibbles. I definitely don't want to rush this pregnancy, but I can't wait for not only Zane to feel Nibbles move, but for Tyler to feel Nibbles as well!

Yesterdays appointment

2:00pm/Dr. Hennessy;high risk office - We had such a great appointment! We had the NT screening done. The ultrasound tech had a little difficulty getting the measurements she needed, since Nibbles was not only sleeping but laying face done!! The tech did get a good measurement of the base of Nibbles neck, but had a little bit of trouble checking the space behind the heart which she assured us was normal. After a few minutes she got a good look at the space behind the heart, and we got to hear Nibbles heartbeat again!!! It as such an amazing sound! The last measurement she had to get was the bridge of Nibbles nose.....THAT proved to be very difficult!! We tried our best to get Nibbles to turn over for us, and they would flip over a little, but not enough to see the nose. After 4-5 minutes of trying the tech said she would give the info she had to the doctor and see if he could come in and get the nose measurement. Well, 5 minutes later the doctor came in and he was looking through the info the tech gave him. He asked how I was feeling, and he said "Well, from what I can see everything looks great to me so i'm not going to worry about getting the other measurement..." We chatted for a minute or so and he then said "You're doing great, sweetie!!" and that made me feel so good! Dr. Hennessy is a high risk OB doctor that specializes in high blood pressure, so to have him tell me I was doing good really set my mind at ease. I did ask him if I could get some insulin and he said he would have the diabetic doctor bring me some if they had any extra. A few minutes later, the diabetic doctor came in and asked how my sugars were and what kind of insulin I needed. (I take Novolg, a fast acting insulin and Novolin, a long acting insulin) Well, she told us before she could get us lots of the fast acting insulin but they hardly ever had any long acting, which I go through a bottle a week....which costs us $24 weekly. :( Well, i told her I needed both but I knew she didn't have any of the long acting......she said she would switch me to another long acting insulin that she could get LOTS of for us! She left for a minute or so and when she came back she had her arms full of insulin!!! She gave us 9 bottles of fast acting (which is $21 a bottle) and 8-9 long acting insulin pens!!!!! We are SO lucky to have such amazing doctors working with us. I just love that office!!! After they drew blood, we went to check out and the diabetic doctor came out and said anytime we needed more insulin to call and let them know, and she said she would make sure she stayed stocked up with the long acting insulin for us! :) They did want us to come back in 8 weeks for the big ultrasound, but we told them we already had an appointment with the regular OB for that and they said that was fine. So, we see the regular OB on January 8th, then the big ultrasound is the 22nd!! WOOHOO!!!!

Here is a pic of Little Nibbles......

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Measuring in at seven centimetres crown to rump or nine centimetres in total length, your baby-to-be will have doubled in weight from last week to between one and one-and-one-half ounces. Your baby will spend the rest of the pregnancy concentrating on growing and becoming strong enough to live outside the uterus. His or her intestines have now moved from outside the body to inside the abdomen. Vocal cords are developing. Your foetus has also developed many reflexes and will squirm around if your abdomen is prodded.

The weeks seem to be going by so darn fast!!! I don't want to rush any of it, since this will be my last pregnancy.....i'm enjoying all of it, even the puky feeling and heartburn!! LOL

Ok, so heartburn has hit pretty hard the past few days. I've been eating Rolaid soft chews and they don't seem to be working very well. When I was pregnant with Ty I remember I chewed Tums smooth dissolve, so i'm assuming i'll have to switch to them this time as well. I do know I can't chew anything that is gritty, like regular Tums. For sugar lows, i'm supposed to treat them with glucose tablets.....well, apparently no one told Nibbles that, because I can barely eat one before I am gagging! Something with the gritty texture doesn't agree with Nibbles. It was the same way when I was pregnant before! The heartburn has been pretty rough, though. Last night I woke up and felt like I was choking, so I chewed two rolaid soft chews and it helped a little.
I'm still feeling barfy/puky if I don't eat often enough. If I wait more than 2.5 hours it hits me pretty hard. I try to keep some snacky stuff close, like crackers or even some gum. I've been feeling so tired and completely exhausted, but I think it's mainly from being sick last week. And I was informed yesterday that my boobs are growing. My back already knew that, thanks!! ROFL!!

All in all I feel really good!! I'm looking forward to having the NT test done Wednesday, mainly because we get to see Nibbles again. I know the test will turn out just fine, so we're all just excited to see how big Nibbles is now! :) I'll update on how things go on Wednesday.

Last weeks NT appointment

Well, we had to cancel last Wednesdays appointent because Zane and I were both sick!! :( I felt so bad because we had to call the day of the appointment to cancel, and I hate that. We were both fine Tuesday night when we went to bed (well, we were sick, but not that bad) but Zane was up all night with not feeling good and I ended up sleeping on the sofa from my cough and felt super achy and yucky when I woke up Wednesday, so we rescheduled for this Wednesday. I told Zane unless we were dying we are not missing this weeks appointment! LOL Tyler is super exctied about seeing Nibbles this week! the last time we saw the baby I was 9w4d pregnant so I can't wait to see how big Nibbles is now, since i'll be 13w3d!! :)

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby-to-be is now almost two to three inches long and weighs about 14g. He or she has the ability to swallow, absorb and discharge fluids. The hands are now complete and are growing fingernails. Even tooth buds are appearing. This week, your placenta takes over the important task of hormone production.

Well, according to some sites I am in my second trimester!!! As far as symptoms, they are still on the light side. I did notice the other night when I took my bra off, my boobs hurt so bad!!! Other than that, and the icky cough/cold I have, i'm feeling really good!

We go tomorrow for the nuchal test. I'm so excited to get to see Nibbles again!!

Yesterdays appointment :)

2:00pm/Dr. Elders - We had such an amazing appointment yesterday!!!! I honestly thought we were going in for a blood pressure checkup, but boy were we wrong! Once we got back into the room, the nurse came in with something in her hand and said "I'm going to listen to the baby's heartbeat." I was like, what?!?!?! I had NO idea they were going to try that this week!!! Well, she tried for a few minutes and couldn't get anything, so she was going to have us move into the ultrasound room to find it that way, mainly because I was only 11w5d along. Well, not too long after she left the room, another nurse came in, (she is our regular nurse and is SO awesome!!! Honestly, everyone in that office is amazing!) and she found Nibbles heartbeat right away. It was THE best sound in the world!!! Tyler asked her, "Is that the baby's heartbeat?!?" And she said "It sure is!!" The look on his face was truly priceless. The doctor was in the room with us as well and he just loved how Tyler reacted to hearing the heartbeat. All three of us were so surprised we got to hear it....all three of us are still smiling about it. :)

Also, my pressure was awesome!!! The new medicine is finally in my system and working great!! (it's a shame it's so flippin' expensive >:-( ) The doctor commented on how impressed he was with my pressure and sugar readings, and even said I looked good and healthy!!!

I go back to the high risk ob/gyn for a nuchal screening next Wednesday, then in the beginning of January I go back to the regular ob for follow up bloodwork and then......a week after Tyler's birthday we have the big ultrasound to see if Nibbles is a boy or a girl!!!!!!

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby-to-be is almost two inches long and weighs about eight grams. The irises are now forming. In females, the clitoris and labia majora are complete. The liver, intestines, brain and lungs are beginning to function on their own. Now that most of the major organ work is done, your baby adds such details as hair, fingernails and toenails. While your baby's head is nearly as large as the rest of its body, head growth begins to slow during this period.

It's hard to believe I will be 3 months pregnant next week!!!

No new symptoms to report going on. I swear if it wasn't for the bloating and occasional puky feeling, I wouldn't even know I was pregnant! I go back this Friday to the regualr OB to have my pressure re-checked. I have had the hardest time getting it under control this time around. :( And on top of that, the one medicine I am on is expensive!! Walmart had the prescription for $75!! We found it at Food City for only $54, but we decided to just get half for now. I am so not liking this health insurance we have right now. We have to pay out of pocket for our prescriptions, then we have to submit paperwork and HOPE they reimburse us 60%.....crazy!!!!!

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

By the end of this week, your baby will have verifiable fingers and toes. The tadpole appearance diminishes as the tail completely disappears. Eyelids fuse and will stay shut until weeks 25 to 27. Both the external ear and upper lip are complete. The beginnings of external genitalia appear. The average size of your baby-to-be is 27 to 35mm crown-to-rump, or 1.06 to 1.38 inches and weighs in at a hefty four grams.

I'm still not having many symptoms going on, *knock on wood*! I still get bloated after I eat or drink anything and my face is still breaking out a little. I think the biggest symptom I have right now is a stuffy nose....I remember having that when pregnant with Ty! I get a little puky/barfy feeling from time to time, but mainly if I wait too long to eat. Since we got to see Nibbles, i'm not worrying about the lack of symptoms.....i'm going to enjoy it!! Although, even if I did have the morning all day sickness I would welcome it. Since this will be my last pregnancy i'm going to enjoy every minute of it! :)

Yesterday's appointment

12:30pm/Dr. Elders - I was so excited about having a pic of Lil Nibbles to share, I forgot to say how the appointment went!! The ultrasound went great! Nibbles was measuring 9w6d, and I was 9w4d yesterday so they are right on track! Their heart rate was 174 bpm, which was good as well. Tyler was in awe while looking at the screen. Honestly, Zane and I were as well!! I was so nervous while waiting to go back to get the ultrasound. Once she inserted the dildo-cam (vaginal ultrasound) the baby came up almost immediately. I looked up at the big screen they have and said "Is that the baby?!?" And she said "It sure is!" It was so exciting!!!!

We go back in two weeks for a follow-up, then the following week we go see the high risk office again for a nuchal screening.

Introducing

Little Nibbles

We are so very much in love already! In fact, the pic above is Tyler's. The tech put Little Nibbles name on it just for Ty and printed it out for him. I had a hard time getting it from him so I could scan it! He keeps hugging and kissing it.......

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

This week, your baby-to-be grows to between 18 and 20mm long, or between a half-inch and an inch. Weighing in at one gram, your baby is very active, although you can't feel its movements. He or she now has all the major organs, muscles and nerves. While testes and ovaries are formed, external genitalia appear sexless, which is why it is too early for an ultrasound to reveal gender.

Woohoo, i'm on time with the update this week!!!

It's hard to believe i've been pregnant for over 2 months now already!! So far i'm still not feeling pregnant, but I have noticed my face has broken out alot the past few weeks. I've also noticed my nails have grown SO fast!!! I cut them back last week, and they are really long already!! I've been feeling so wiped out/exhausted throughout the day, but still not too bad. Also, by the end of the day, my hips are so sore!! And, Zane has pointed out that my boobs are getting H-U-G-E....leave it to him to notice that!

I am SO anxious about this weeks appointment and ultrasound. I can't wait to see Lil' Nibbles, but at the same time I am so nervous that something will be wrong. I guess it's normal to feel that way, but I won't let it get to me. :)

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby's head is quite big, due to the rapid growth of the brain. The upper limbs resemble paddles. In the next few days foot plates, with the beginnings of toe rays, will appear. The external ears are present. Your baby is now 13 to 16mm long - about the size of a cherry. This is a big week, as gonads differentiate, becoming either testes or ovaries. Also, your little one begins to move spontaneously this week, though you won't feel it yet.

Ok, I know i'm slacking. I have got to write myself a note to remember to update here!!!

Anyhoo, things still seem to be going good. I still don't really have morning sickness, but then again I didn't have it with Ty either. I do tend to feel puky/queasy different times of the day, which isn't too bad. I'm still a little worried that I don't really have many symptoms, but I try not to worry about it too much. My pressure is finally doing good, and my sugars are getting better as well!!! I did notice a few nights ago that my feet were a little swollen, but I think they swelled from being on them alot that day. Once I sat down in the recliner and propped my feet up, the swelling went down almost immediately. :) At night I feel lots of "movement" in my lower belly, which I know is my uterus stretching and growing. All-in-all, things seem to be progressing well. We go back to the regular OB next Thursday to see Lil' Nibbles!!! I am really hoping we get some good pics so I can share them. :)

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby-to-be is the size of a small bean, measuring in at nine millimetres, crown to rump. It has dark spots, which mark the early formation of the eye lens. Pits indicate the formation of nostrils and ears. The brain, heart, limbs and facial characteristics are now forming. Your baby's heart now has a right and left chamber.

I'm a little late with posting this, since we were 7 weeks this past Sunday. The past two days have been hectic!!

So far, things seem to be going well as far as symptoms. I still really don't feel preggo, but then again I didn't feel preggo with Ty until I was over 10 weeks. I still feel a little puky throughout the day, but it is mainly when I go too long without eating. My nose is SO stuffy at night time!! It makes it so hard to get good sleep. :( I've been using those Breathright strips and they do help, but they are SO expensive!! I still feel tired/run down, but mainly in the afternoon. Other than that, things seem to be good!!

Yesterdays appointments

Well, yesterday we had two appointments; one at 10:15 with the regular ob, Dr. Elders and one at 2:10pm with the high risk diabetic doctor. We also had to drop off a 24 hour urine test I did on Monday, plus fit in getting an EKG done!!! Yesterday was a hectic day, to say the least! LOL

The first appointment went ok. My pressure was up, of course. :( We were also hoping they were going to do another vaginal ultrasound but he said he didn't know if the other dr. was going to do one so he said he would wait. They did draw 5 tubes of blood for whatever pregnancy stuff they run. The nurses at that office are SO nice!!! And they all love Tyler. After that appointment we went to have the EKG done. We were worried we would run out of time in between appointments, but boy were we wrong!!! The EKG took a grand total of.....10 seconds!!! The longest part of it was hooking up all the wires and taking them all off after the test was done. I was only in the back for a little over 10 minutes!!! When I came out, Zane and Ty were in the waiting room and Zane gave me a worried look and asked what was wrong? I told him not a thing, we were done!!! So, we had a little over 2 hours to kill before our next appointment. We got some lunch, then went to walmart to walk around. At our second appointment, of course my pressure was still up. The diabetic dr. was impressed with how well my sugars are finally doing, and I told her the only reason they are doing so good was because I was going through so much insulin. She said that was perfectly normal, especially with being pregnant. A pregnant woman will need to use more insulin than a regular diabetic no matter how many carbs they eat, and she reassured me I wasn't doing or eating anything wrong. They did up one of my blood pressure meds so hopefully that will help with that. We didn't get to see Little Nibbles, but I really can't complain.......the diabetic doctor gave us 10 bottles of insulin!!!!! That is over $200 worth!! She told us last week if we ever needed any insulin to tell her, so I asked her yesterday if she had a bottle she could spare. She said of course and would bring it to me at the lab, since I had to have my blood drawn for the 24 hour urine sample. Well, Zane and Ty checked me out while I was in the lab, and when they were done they came in to get me and Zane had something in his hand that I couldn't quite make out. When we left he said "Check this out!" and I saw he had 10 bottles!!!! I was floored!!!! I definitely did not expect to get that many bottles! Everyone in that office is so amazingly awesome. We really lucked out with these doctors at both offices.

We go back on November 20th to the regular ob, Dr. Elders and he said they will definitely do an ultrasound then. I'll be almost 10 weeks by that time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at Little Nibbles.

Yesterdays appointment

1:00pm - Yesterday we met with the high risk diabetic doctor and also with the high risk blood pressure specialist, as my pressure has been up a little. Well, when they checked my pressure yesterday it was really high. :( Also, the diabetic doctor adjusted my insulin and changed which type I was taking. I also had a "mist" test done to determine if the blood pressure meds I am on were working. They decided to change my pressure medicine as well. They took blood to check my A1C and to check a few other things. They called today to tell me my A1C has gone up a few points, and that I now have subclinical hypothyroidism?!?!? I have never had any thyroid problems, and they said because I am pregnant I need to go on medication to help prevent miscarriage. I'm also hoping the new insulin I am on with help with my sugars better, AND I hope the new blood pressure medicine helps keep my blood pressure under control. :( We go back next Tuesday. We also have another vaginal ultrasound done Tuesday morning to check and see how the baby is doing. I also have to have an EKG done the same day, plus do a 24 hour urine test starting Monday.

So much going on, and i'm only in the beginning of pregnancy.....:(

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby's length will have doubled from four millimetres at the beginning of this week to eight millimetres by the end. The placenta is rapidly developing, however, it will not take over hormone production until about week 12.

The baby's heart is now beating and blood circulation is evident. The kidneys and liver are growing fast, and the neural tube, which connects the brain to the spinal cord, closes.

We were officially 6 weeks yesterday! As far as symptoms, they still seem to be fairly light. I still feel a little run down in the afternoons and bloated throughout the day. Every once in awhile I feel a little cramp or twinge, which is normal. For the most part, I don't even feel pregnant. I'm actually looking forward to when I do feel preggo! LOL

I have an appointment tomorrow with the high risk diabetic OB. Then next week I see Dr. Elders again for another ultrasound! Hopefully we'll actually get to see Little Nibbles and the heartbeat. :)

Yesterdays appointment :)

2:30pm - Yesterdays appointment went great!! My pressure was up some, so I have to make sure I mention that when I see the high risk doctors on Tuesday. But, they did a vaginal ultrasound and we got to see the sac and it is measuring right along with the dates I have! We go back in two weeks to see the regular ob (Dr. Elders), and I should be far enough along to see Little Nibbles and hopefully see a heartbeat. :)

It was so cute.......Tyler was in the room with us and he kept asking where the baby was. (on the screen) The nurse pointed out the little black space that was the sac and I told him "that's where Little Nibbles will live for the next 8-9 months!" and he said "Cool! I used to live there, didn't I mommy?!?"

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

During the next few days, your baby's heart will begin to beat. The embryo is now about 1.5 to 2.5mm long. All of your baby's major organs are under development and facial features, such as ears and eyes, begin to form. The neural tube, which will later be referred to as the spinal cord, will fuse this week. Buds appear that will soon be the arms and legs. This could be why you are so tired.

*Ok, I may have to edit this post as i'm not 100% sure how far along I am. Once I get the correct date, i'll do a weekly post. :)

So far the symptoms haven't been too bad. I think the worst of it all is the bloating!! No matter what I eat or drink, I feel so miserable afterwards.....and it lingers for hours sometimes!! My boobs are a little tender, but i'm sure they will hurt more over time. When I was preggo with Tyler they hurt so bad!!! No morning sickness, and i'm hoping I will be lucky like last time and not have any at all! ;) The downside to not having morning sickness (if there even is a downside to not having it! LOL) is that I am hungry all the time!!! Also, i'm feeling really tired, mainly when I first wake up then later in the afternoon. I also feel like I have to pee every 10 minutes or so!

Right now I am just looking forward to tomorrows appointment. I know it will be way too early to see anything but the yolk sac, but at least i'll get to see the doctor and ask a few questions I have.

First appointment tomorrow!

Tomorrow we go in to see the regular ob/gyn. I had an appointment with him as a follow-up from seeing the high risk department, but now that we are pregnant he still wants to see me and will do an exam to check for a yolk sac. I'm also hoping he'll be able to verify just how far along I am......i'm not quite sure if my dates are correct, so hopefully tomorrow's appointment will determine how far along we are!! :)

*appointment is at 2:30pm

I really feel the timing of this was meant to be. I know mom is watching over all of us, including our new little bean!!!

Appointment with high risk ob/gyn yesterday

So the appointment went really good. They tweaked my meds like I thought they would, so hopefully my sugar readings will be better. I go back on October 14 to see the diabetes specialist to see how my sugars do.

Next appt. is this week :)

We see the high risk ob/gyn this week!! He'll go over the meds I am taking and tweak them if need be. So far, my pressure has been doing great with the new medicine.....and with not too many side effects!! The insulin will most likey have to be tweaked the most. My sugars are still high in the mornings, and I started taking the long acting insulin at night the help with it.

I'll update on how it goes!!

*appt. is October 2nd

New med

Well, I started my new blood pressure med last night and so far my pressure is doing well. The new pill will still cause swelling, which is yucky, but if it helps control my pressure i'll take the swelling!!! LOL

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Ugh.....

The last doctor visit we had they gave me a second blood pressure med to take along with the Methyldopa, called Pindolol. Well, for the first week or so it was working great......my pressures were good, and my headaches went away. The downside to it was swelling.....my feet are HUGE and they hurt when I walk!!! My hands are swollen as well, so much so that I can't wear my wedding ring. :( Also, a few nights ago I noticed when I was laying in bed I could feel my heart beating inside my ears and my headaches were coming back. I got up last night and checked my pressure and it was way too high. I checked it again this morning and it was still up! So, we called the doctor's office and told them all that has been going on. They said to stop taking the new med immediately and they would call me in a prescription for a new pill that I should start right away. *sigh* I'm really starting to worry I won't be able to get my pressure under control and we won't be able to try for another little one......hopefully this new medicine will help control it better.

It's official

WE ARE TTC!!!! The IUD came out super easy last month and we're now all set!! I'm still working on getting my meds straightened out, mainly the insulin, but for the most we're all good to go.

AF started as of yesterday, or at least I think she has. I was really hoping getting the IUD out would get AF back on track, but so far it's like it has been.....she better work herself out!!!!! >:(

Anyhoo, here we go!!!!!!!!

Getting so close!!!

Only 8 more days until my IUD comes out!!! I can't believe we are so close to starting TTC. Part of me is actually getting a little nervous....isn't that silly?!? We've been wanting another little one for so long, and yet now that the time is close i'm nervous about it!

I see our family doctor first next Thursday, so hopefully i'll get my meds readjusted. This blood pressure pill is kicking my butt! I am now taking 2 pills in the am and 2 in the pm and my pressure is still a little up there. Plus, it makes me SO drowsy!!! I can barely hold my head up and keep my eyes open during the day. At night I don't mind being drowsy since it helps me get a good nights sleep. But during the day I end up taking a small nap, which is so not like me! I do remember taking HCTZ with the Methyldopa when I was pregnant before, so i'm going to ask about taking that to help with the other side effect I have....swollen feet. :( I don't remember dealing with swelling before, and now I know it was because I was taking HCTZ. So, i'll be sure to get that adjusted, as well as the insulin, next Thursday. :)

Ick!!

Well, I had to bump up my blood pressure meds to 4 a day instead of two. My pressure was up this morning, so I decided to go ahead and take the extra two pills. Plus, my sugar was up to 175 this morning, so I decided to take 5 units of insulin to help bring it down. So far the side effects of the blood pressure meds are kicking my butt!!! I am SO wiped out it's unreal.....I feel like laying acroos the bed, turning the fans on and passing out! LOL Not how I need to feel since I still have some cleaning to do before our comapny gets here this Sunday! Plus, the meds make my feet feel so jumpy....like I have to move them constantly. Ahh, well. I know i'm taking them for a good reason, and that it is only temporary afterall......I can do this!! :)

22 days until the IUD comes out!!!

Started new meds today

So, I started on the methyldopa this morning. Right now I only take two a day, one in the morning and one at night. I need to monitor my pressure at home to see how it does. So far no yucky side effects, but of course it's still soon since I took my first pill this morning! LOL I am now off of all of my sugar pills and haven't started the insulin yet. The doctor said I shouldn't start it until my fasting sugars creep up to the 200's and so far they are staying between 135-145. I may actually start taking it pretty soon, though.....I don't like my fasting sugars being that high. :(

I also started taking prenatal vitamins again as of Saturday night......it's getting close!!!!
