Hiccup!

Last Friday I was sitting at the computer and was feeling Chase doing his normal kicks/thumps pretty low. Well, I stopped a second and concentrated on what I was feeling........it was a thump every few seconds in the same spot.........I felt hiccups!! I remember with Tyler I felt hiccups just about every day and after he was born he still got them often, and at 5 years old STILL gets them!

It's so amazing how such a little thing can bring a huge smile to my face. :)

Today's appointment

3:00pm/Dr. Elder - We had another great appointment!! Chase looked great and was moving like crazy!! He is still head down, WAY down, and is facing my back. I got some cute pics i'll get scanned sometime tomorrow and posted. My pressure was great and my 24 hour urine came back great as well....they said anything under 300 as far as protein was good, and mine was 147 !! We go back to the doctor next Tuesday for another ultrasound, and we get to see another of the OB's...although, since i'll have a scheduled induction we will most likely be deilvered by our regular OB. :)

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

It may be hard to imagine, but your baby is now 28cm crown to rump or 15 1/4 inches long, and weighs three pounds, 12oz. In the past few months, the rapid weight gain has been due to an increase of fat stores and muscle. Your baby can move his or her head to the side, but now that baby is taking up much of the available space, his or her movement will slowly decrease.

Things are still going great! I still have some on and off swelling with my feet, but as long as I sit and prop them up it doesn't last long. Chase is still super active and loves to keep mommy awake with his kicks!! Ok, when he starts to kick and move I can't help but lay my hand on my belly....I love feeling him move from the outside! It's so hard to imagine he will be here in possibly 6 weeks!

We go to the regular OB this afternoon for another ultrasound and to get some measurements of Chase.

Today's appointment

8:00am/Dr. Elder - We had a really great appointment today!! Pressure was up slightly, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. I remembered to bring my 24 hour urine test in, and i'm so glad I am done with it! My weight was actually down by 3 lbs since Monday, but the nurse felt it was because I was wearing lighter clothes today......it was so flippin' warm!!! I'm not complaining about the weight drop, though! LOL They hooked me up for the NST and she found Chase's heartbeat pretty quick, but he was NOT happy about it! Once she got the strap hooked up, you could hear his heartbeat from the machine a little, but you heard more kicks and thumps than anything!! She left for a few minutes, and everyone who passed by the room we were in would poke their head in and say "Wow, listen to that little one move!!" The nurse came back to check things and she put her hand on the do-hickey that is strapped to your tummy and she said "Oh! I just felt him kick!! I must have really pissed him off!" She is so sweet.....in fact, everyone there is!!! The doctor came in and even he commented on how active the baby was! He was impressed with everything, which was good. They did have to take more blood again today, though. I did get to ask about registering for the hospital and they said I should have gotten a form in the goody bag they gave me when I first found out I was pregnant......ummm, I never got a goody bag! :( So we got it today!! It had some really cool stuff in it, too! A sample of some Tums Smoothies and some lotion for stretch marks, some breast shields (which Ty keeps asking me if they are for my hoohaa...LOL!) and a few magazines and pamphlets plus a huge book about pregnancy and newborns. There is also a huge spiral book all about the hospital, which has the registration paper we need in it. So we'll be getting that filled out and brought back pretty soon.

We have our next appointment on Monday at 3:00pm at the Northshore office, which we like SO much better than where we normally go, at the UT hospital! It's free to park at Northshore, and no elevator or long walks!! LOL

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Visually, your baby may track moving objects with the eyes. When he or she blinks, the eye's iris responds to light and dark. The lungs and digestive track are nearly mature, although the last few weeks in-utero are still important for lung development. Your baby is now around 14-1/2 inches head to toe, and weighs almost three pounds, five ounces.

Can you believe next week I will be 8 months pregnant?!?!? I hate that this pregnancy is going by so fast. But it really has been a great pregnancy, and I know just how blessed I am!! As for symptoms, the heartburn is still there no matter what I eat or drink. And I pee SO much!! I'm up so much at night it's just crazy! Other than those two issues, I feel so good!! (well, i'm SO exhausted and out of breath so much but that is from one of my pressure meds...)

We go back to the doctor this Friday for a NST, then we go back next Monday for another ultrasound.

Today's appointment

8:00am/Dr. Elder - We had SUCH a great appointment today!!! We got to see Chase in 3D and it was so amazing. He was moving around and still has his little hand up at his face!! We saw him yawn and smile, which was just so sweet. He was also sucking his thumb and kept resting his hand/fingers on his nose. It was incredible!!! And, his head is SO low!! The tech saw he was practicing his breathing and his heart rate was 145 bpm, which were right on track. We got so many pics printed off for us......26 3D pics and one regular pic! We had so many they actually gave us a plastic little holder to keep them in! The only downside is we were hoping the prints would have been in "color", but they were all black and white like regular ultrasound pics.....for $100 I was hoping to get at least ONE color 3D pic! Oh well......the pics we did get were great, plus we got the whole thing on dvd! My pressure was good; 124/90. The nurse made me lay on my left side because of the bottom number being 90, but the OB said that was a normal number for me since I have chronic hypertension. We go back this Friday for a NST, then we go back next Monday for another ultrasound to get measurements. I *think* we'll be doing weekly appointments starting next week, and not twice a week....I love seeing Chase so much, but I feel bad that Z has to lose a few hours from work to go with us. (although, he still gets great hours at work so it's not so bad, I guess) We also found out that when I am 38 weeks they will check Chase's lung maturity and my cervix and if all looks good they will induce!!! That is in 7 weeks!!! Photobucket

*OH!! I forgot!! I got my results back from my A1C test and it is now 5.8!!! Photobucket It was up to 7.1 when I found out I was pregnant back in October, so it's much better!!! I also forgot to do the 24 hour urine test yesterday, (Photobucket) so I have to make sure I do that this Thursday and turn it in on Friday.

And now, here is our little monkey.....you can see him sucking his thumb in these two pics.....

Pics from Monday

I finally got the pics scanned!!! The first picture is a pic of Chase's fingers......he's actually making a fist and you can really see the detail of his fingers...

And here is his foot again!!

We go back next Monday and are SUPPOSED to be getting the 3D ultrasound done. They will also do all the measurements, and we'll most likely be going once a week from here on out. I can't believe Chase will be here in less that 7 weeks!!!

Today's appointment *update*

3:15pm/Dr. Elder - So today was supposed to be the 3D ultrasound, but thanks to Z's screw up last week we had to reschedule to next Monday at 8:00am. I still have the appointment this afternoon, but no ultrasound. I'll update this post either tonight or tomorrow morning.........

So today's appointment wasn't a total waste. We did get an ultrasound of Chase, which was nice. I'll see about getting them scanned and posted shortly. They said he looked great! He is now head down and actually facing my back....I really hope he stays facing that way, too!!! Ty was sunny-side up and was tough to push out! LOL He does have his hand resting on his head just like Ty did, and one of his feet is up by his head! LOL The only bad thing was my pressure was up a little, so we have to go back in the morning to have it rechecked. I also had to give blood to have my A1C checked and have to do a 24 hour urine test again.

After tomorrow we go back next Monday for our 3D ultrasound.

30 weeks *EDIT* :(

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby weighs three pounds and measures 14 inches from head to toe, or 27cm. Your baby's eyes may now be wide open. He or she may even have hair.

The time keeps going by faster and faster! So far everything is still going great. I had a little bit of a scare last week, as Chase wasn't moving much at all. I am so used to him moving and kicking almost non-stop and last Wednesday he wasn't moving like he had been. Wednesday was a really rough day so i'm thinking the stress of it all may have affected him. Saturday and yesterday he was back to moving alot more, bit i'm still going to mention it to the doctor today. We had to cancel last Thursday appointment (long story) and i'm not 100% sure we'll still get our 3D ultrasound today since insurance doesn't cover it and they want $100 at the appointment to have it done. If we don't get it done it won't be too big of a deal, as i'm sure we'll still get a regular ultrasound.....any chance we get to see our little monkey is fine with me!!!

As for symptoms, they are still pretty much the same. I'm getting some braxton hicks on and off and my feet are usually swollen by the end of the day......and I am SO exhausted and out of breath it's crazy!!! I honestly don't think it's from being pregnant though, as the side effects of one of the pressure meds I take are exhaustion and being out of breath. It's really starting to bug me more and more now, though. I can't seem to do anything at all without having to sit down or stop what i'm doing to catch my breath.

The appointment scheduled for today had to be cancelled...hopefully we'll get in soon for our ultrasound. :(

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Your baby now weighs two pounds, nine ounces and is 13 1/2 inches long. The crown-to-rump measurement, which may be slightly more accurate than length estimates, is about 26cm. Your baby's lungs have now developed to the point where he or she could breathe air well.

Symptoms have still been about the same. Chase is still moving and shaking like crazy!! Z felt him again Saturday night when we were laying in bed. He rested his hand on my belly and tapped a few times....when he stopped, Chase tapped right back at him! Heartburn is still kicking my butt no matter what I eat or drink. I think I may have to switch from Rolaid chews to some Tums smooth dissolves. By the end of the day my feet are swollen, which can be a pain at times....especially if I need to put regular shoes on! My back has been a little achy from time to time, but i've been holding off taking anything until at least bedtime. As far as sleeping at night, it's been so rough. I get up to pee so many times a night it's crazy. Chase has got to be super low, as I feel tons of pressure in the hoohaa!!

We go to the high risk doctor this Thursday, but i'm not sure if they'll do an ultrasound. I hope so!! Also, a week from today we get our 3D ultrasound done!!! We can't wait!!!

Uncomfortable

Ok, I really do love being pregnant.........and with this being our last pregnancy I am seriously cherishing every moment of this pregnancy. Plus the fact that I should be so grateful that we are even pregnant when so many other couples have trouble conceiving, I feel so guilty complaining about anything with this pregnancy. But I can honestly say I don't remember being this uncomfortable so soon when pregnant with Tyler. And I know every pregnancy is different, but UGH!!!! I can no longer sit in the recliner because it's so hard to get out of, plus it tends to make my back hurt after sitting for a few minutes......and the sofa is a big no-no since I also have a hard time getting out of it when sitting. In fact, I tried laying on the sofa last night because I had so much pressure in/around the hoohaa area it hurt no matter where I sat.......when I went to get up, Z helped to pull me up and when I sat up I had one of the worst pains I have felt this pregnancy!!! It felt like a cramp in my left belly, and the only way I can describe it is it reminded me of a charlie horse you get in your leg, only it was in my lower belly. It finally eased up after a minute, but there was a dull ache there, just like when I leg cramp/charlie horse lets go but you still know it's there. I'm sure it was just round ligament pain, but it was pretty rough. I've also noticed I have a hard time sitting in just about any chair now, and I even brought in one of our comfy lawn chairs from outside into the living room so I could have a place to sit. It helps for a little while, but then i'll start to hurt and have to get up. I swear I don't remember getting like this when pregnant with Ty until at least 34-35 weeks along.

It's kind of funny.....as I am sitting here complaining about hurting and not being able to get comfy, Chase is kicking and thumping like crazy!!!! All of the aches and pains are all worth it when I feel this little guy inside.........Photobucket
